Pros & Cons of the New Update

Ever since the new update came in, the official forum of the game is full of comments regarding the new update & so is the Google Play store from where they updated the game, in case of android users.

The new update without a doubt does have a few bugs in it which SuperCell will resolve soon enough, till then, we need to be patient.

Without a doubt, this new update really is a game changing update. Most players that were used to the old system of the game find it hard to adapt to the new system because of all the changes.

BUGS AFFECTING CLASHERS A LOT

The personal break timer is messing up a little. It is supposed to reset after 30 min of the player being offline but that is not happening. SuperCell will surely work on it since they have been informed about this bug by a lot of players.

Some players are experiencing a problem with donations in war since their game crashes when they donate. It is only happening to those players who's Dark barracks are on upgrade. It is not supposed to happen & will be resolved, hopefully.

CHANGES AFFECTING THE GAME-PLAY

After the shield system changed, the game play totally changed. Those players who were using farming bases got messed up because of how they have to expose their resources to others now. Apart from them, players living off of the league bonus by sniping town halls in higher leagues are also facing problems.

Two most important changes are:

  • The percentage system of the league bonus,
  • The Town hall destruction not yiedling shields.

PROS OF THE NEW SYSTEM

Unlike before, you can attack while under shield. This means that you can make more attacks while being protected from others. Mostly, we get attacked & get a 12 hour shield, so what happens is that our first attack takes away 3h shield while the second one takes away 4h & so on. The number of attacks you can make before getting attacked is as below,
  • 12h shield on 30% destruction - 3 attacks [3+4+5=12]
  • 14h shield on 60% destruction - 4 attacks [3+4+5=12 which is less than 14h. Thus, giving time for another army]
  • 16h shield on 90% destruction - 4 attacks[3+4+5=12 which is less than 14h. Thus, giving time for another army]

Not to forget that you can buy a 2h shield from the shop as the Active Guard once a day which will allow you to make more attacks while under it. Good thing is, it doesn't reduce or break if you attack.

The above can help you with Trophy Pushing as well as farming off of the other bases. Not to forget that the minimum amount of trophies you can get in higher Leagues has also been increased.

The players who used to hide under free shield by using farming bases are easily reachable due to the new system & before they can get a shield, there will be at least one person who can get a percentage of their loot depending upon how good of the attacker they are.

The League bonus has also been increased by a small amount in every league.

The higher you are in the League, the longer the Active guard shield is awarded to you which does not decrease nor breaks when you attack & can be bought once every 23h for 10 gems

CONS OF THE NEW SYSTEM

Since percentage destruction is now related to the league bonus award, low percentages allow you low amount of loot. Apart from that, all those players who used to hide under free shield would generate loads of loot while under shield but cannot do that anymore. The dead bases which kept on generating resources while under shields are now available too often to attack & are easily reachable by more number of people. Even the war loot bonus has drastically reduced. In short, the amount of total loot generation in the game has drastically reduced & the addition of Th11 has been the usage of the resources far more than before.

For simplicity,
Loot being consumed >>> Loot being produced in the game

Village guard acting like you are online does help you but in Titan League I & Legend League, you get a 3h Village guard after every shield expiry. The Personal break timer is also 3h long. Since village guard acts like you are online, players in higher leagues suffer from Personal break timer right after their village guard ends, which kicks you out of the game for 6 minutes so that you may be attacked but if you are not attacked, you can only come online for another 15 min & then get kicked again. This repeats twice & then, the Personal break timer resets.

To get the entire league bonus, people have to use expensive armies to attack the bases in normal raids like they do in wars. This is especially true for those in Leagues such as Champion League & above.

SURVIVING IN THE NEW SYSTEM

First of all, to survive in the new system, we need to adapt to the changes since the things that worked before update will not work anymore. New strategies for farming have to be developed.
Since the Personal Break timer is messing up some player's games, it's better to keep it in mind before following a new system. To do that, it's better to avoid timings which may trigger it since it is currently bugged & will be worked upon by the SC team.
  • Attack thrice while under shield
  • Stay in the League where you are sure to get attacked
  • Make a base design which is strong enough to keep your loot saved up but weak enough to get your base destroyed at least 30% to get you that 12h shield.
  • Avoid coming online while not under shield
  • As long as the Personal break timer is bugger, avoid buying the 2h active guard unless your shield just ended.
  • Attack bases on which you can at least get 50%+ to get you a victory & 80%+ of the league bonus.
  • Never snipe Town halls while under shield since while under shield, you can only make 3 attacks without getting attacked. Use those 3 attacks wisely since you'll be attacked after that for your precious loot.
  • To get attacked, keep some amount of loot, otherwise, if you don't have any loot, no one will attack u & you will stay shield-less.
  • Try to get attacked to get the shield & above being without the shield or the Personal break will mess up everything. [You can even get kicked while attacking in war due to Personal break timer]

That's all for now. If you have any questions or suggestions, do comment down below. I will try to get back to you ASAP.

The Forum Elite Event

FORUM ELITE

Forum Elite is an event organised by the skilled players of Clash of Clans. The main purpose of it is to push trophies for one week & get the Clan in the Top Global rankings. Breaking the previous records is what it's all about. In other words, it's a dream event for any trophy hunting Clasher that wants to break the previous records.

WHEN IT IS HELD

It is usually held once one year by the dedicated Clashers who are a part of the official forums of the game. As of now, 4 events have been held & next one is coming in pretty soon!

WHO CAN JOIN

Since the name is Forum Elite, it's pretty clear that it's for the forumers but anyone can join the forums & take part, provided he's a hardcore pusher. Even Farmers are welcomed to try if they can give up their farming mode for one week & push those trophies up!

CLANS FOR THE EVENT

There are 4 Clans made for it & based on the stats of the player, they are told which clan they can join. The more the trophies, the better chance of you getting to stay with hardcore pushers, including the famous Clashers out there! This means that if you in the higher Leagues such as Titan, you will end up being in the First Clan & it goes on to the Fourth Clan which usually has Clashers in Crystal or Masters Leagues. It usually depends upon the Sign ups. But don't worry if you in a lower Clan, you can visit the higher Clans as well after taking permission from the Clan leader.

STATISTICS

Your stats are noted by the stats recorders & displayed on the Forums after the event is over. For this reason, you are expected not to leave the Clan during the event so that the recorders can keep up with your stats.

CLAN LEADERS

The Clans are lead by the organizers of the event itself. Since there are more than 4 organizers, they are not chosen randomly, but based on their reputation & stats.

VISITORS

Even if you didn't take part in the event, you can come & visit for a few hours, have fun, learn & chat with other Clashers.

VIDEOS

Videos are usually uploaded on YouTube regarding this event by a few YouTubers who visit the Clans & some even take part in the event which means that you can hop in & meet them as well & get a chance to be in those Videos!

STATS OF PREVIOUS CLANS IN THE EVENT

Forum Elite I - It reached #60 in Global rankings
Forum Elite II - It reached #25 in Global rankings
Forum Elite III - It reached #15 in Global rankings
Forum Elite IV - It reached #25 in Global rankings

Trophy Pushing to Champion League

LET'S PUSH TO CHAMPS LEAGUE!

Hi there! I'm an almost maxed out Th9 with 100+ XP level & 650+ war stars. I pushed to Champion League a few weeks ago with a GiWi army while 2 starring Maxed out Th9s on my way. I was surprised to know how easy it was to take out maxed Th9s as a Th9 whereas people had been telling me how hard it is. Well, I think others should know that it's not that hard & even Th8s can push to Champ League without Th sniping [which is no more!]

After this new BIG update in which Supercell changed the entire shielding system of the game, which in turn changed the attacking & defending ways of the Clashers, the road to higher Leagues also got affected in a major way.

The good thing is, pushing just became a little more easier for those who strike bases head on but for those who used to push while sniping, pushing trophies just became a million times harder for them.

LET'S GET STARTED!

So, if you're planning on pushing to Champs League as a Th8 or above, it will not be that hard for you.

EFFECT OF SHIELD CHANGES ON TROPHY PUSHING

The shield changes has played the most important role for trophy pushers. Unlike before, you can attack while under shield. This means that you can make more attacks while being protected from others. Mostly, we get attacked & get a 12 hour shield, so what happens is that our first attack takes away 3h shield while the second one takes away 4h & so on. The number of attacks you can make before getting attacked is as below

ARMY SELECTION FOR DIFFERENT SITUATIONS

The army that you will be using varies from one league to another. Assuming that you are starting from Crystal League, the journey to Master League is easy using either Giants + wizards or Hogbarch. You can even use Barch for pushing since it provides an easy 50%.

It's better to use a good & strong army while under a shield since the limit is the number of attacks you can make & not the time unless you waste the shield time while training no troops.

While under the active guard, it's better to go for barch since nothing reduces the time or breaks the active guard shield.

ARMY COMPOSITION

Crystal League to Master League

  • GiWi - 20 Giants, 20 Wizards, 8 wall breakers, rest Minions or Archers [1 Heal, 1 Jump/Rage]
  • HogBarch - 20 Hogs, 50 Barbs, 50-70 Archers [1 Heal if requried]
  • Barch- 40% Barbs, 60% Archers [Use wall breakers if striking for a 2 star]
Barch example

Master League III to Master League I

  • The army that worked well for me was GiWi with the same composition as given above.
  • Balloonion - 30 Balloons, rest Minions [2-4 Rage]
  • Mass Hogs - 30 Hogs with rest Archers [3-4 Heals]
Example of Mass Hogs

Master League I to Champs League

  • GoWiPe - 3 Golem, 3 Pekka, 6-8 wall breakers, rest wizards [1 Jump, 1 Rage, 2 Heals]
  • GoViz - 2 Golem, 12 Valks, 6-8 wall breakers, rest wizards [4 Earthquakes, 1 Rage, 1 Heal]
  • GoWiWi - 2 Golem, 6 Witches, 6-8 wall breakers, rest wizards [1 Jump, 3 Rage]
Above is an example of a GiWi attack

WHICH BASES TO ATTACK - TIPS!

  • The type of attack you choose will depend upon the type of base you should select.
  •  It's better to avoid Th10s during your push.
  • As a Th8, don't attack maxed out Th9s even if they have juicy amount of loot as well as trophies
  • As a Th9, you can even 2 star a maxed out Th9 regardless of the base design with GiWi, if executed perfectly.
  • Learn the above mentioned attacks before you use them & learn which bases they work best on.
  • Always take your Heroes with you, no matter what!
  • Fill up your CC before every attack, it's crucial. They come in handy a lot!
